CMTS furnished project management services which included assisting the Inglewood Unified School District (IUSD) to establish planning and programming of projects; preparation of bid packages; review and tracking of contractors’ schedules; verification and submission for conformance specifications; coordination of the construction schedule with the school board; and providing inspectors who are certified by the California Division of the State Architect (DSA). CMTS was responsible for all of the projects in three separate municipalities. While only three of the 18 projects were actually constructed during the tenure, the projects associated with these clusters had a construction value in excess of $130 million and would have resulted in the generation of over 100 construction contracts.

The Parent School K-8 School that was the first construction project from the Measure ‘K’ Bond. Phase 1–New Construction included six classroom buildings, a multi-purpose building, science lab, art lab, and administration offices. Interim housing for classrooms and administration were provided in a portable village. Phase 1 was completed in 11 months. New buildings were occupied and Phase 2 Modernization began, which included six classroom buildings, a library-media center, staff lounge, and support areas.

The project was completed seven months ahead of schedule. Centinela is a K-6 school, which was the second school under construction from the Measure ‘K’ Bond. Phase 1 – New Construction and Modernization included a two-story building with ten classrooms and modernization of administrative offices and staff lounge. Interim housing for classrooms and administration were provided in a portable village. Phase 1 was completed in twelve months. New buildings were occupied and Phase 2 – New Construction began which included two buildings; a one-story, five room kindergarten classroom building, and a one-story multi-purpose building that includes a science laboratory, art laboratory, and library media center.

The project was completed two months ahead of schedule in March 2004. Crozier Middle School was funded with the measure “K” Bond. The first Phase included the construction of an interim village with thirty-eight modular units to accommodate the entire student population, faculty, and staff. These units provided classrooms, offices, dining, and library facilities for a student population of 800 during the construction of the new campus. The new campus consists of three two-story steel frame buildings with nearly 60,000 square feet of new classrooms and labs, new administrative offices, and a new gymnasium. Total building area is 104,324 square feet. Construction was completed in August 2006 and six months ahead of schedule.
